Job summary

Van Meter seeks a Commodities Supervisor to lead the distribution center team, directing operations, budget management, and capital projects. This role drives safety, training, and continuous improvement while aligning processes across locations.

The ideal candidate will coach staff, analyze daily metrics, and ensure timely, accurate order processing and production scheduling in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Two-year degree preferred.
• Experience in distribution center leadership preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 70 lbs; forklift experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Drive safety initiatives and ensure compliance.
• Provide leadership, coaching and mentoring to team members.
• Analyze daily reports, metrics to identify opportunities.
• Oversee picking, transfer queue, and error reporting.
• Oversee daily production schedule and balance production levels.
• Collaborate with inside sales, Production Manager and DC manager.
• Support delivery logistics for the branch.
• Train new team members.
• Promote continuous improvement and company culture.
