Job summary

Steelcase is seeking an experienced Distribution Center Operations Manager in Hazleton, PA to lead receiving, storage, and distribution of products. You will drive lean processes, ensure on-time deliveries, and collaborate with manufacturing and field centers to optimize flow.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
• 5+ years of relevant experience in a distribution center.
• 2+ years of supervisory or management experience in a distribution warehouse environment.
• Experience managing distribution center operations, including receiving, shipping, and material handling functions.
• Demonstrated ability to lead teams and achieve operational objectives.
• Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced, changing environment while demonstrating adaptability and sound judgment.
• Experience working with quality systems, safety requirements, and continuous improvement methodologies.
• Strong planning, organizational, and decision-making skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate the receiving, storage, and distribution of products and parts.
• Establish lean procedures that maximize customer satisfaction through timely and accurate deliveries.
• Coordinate distribution center activities with manufacturing facilities and field distribution centers to ensure seamless product flow.
• Facilitate logistics activities and distribution processes to meet customer requirements and critical delivery timelines.
• Make operational decisions that maximize trailer utilization and minimize transportation costs.
• Assign and oversee duties related to incoming and outgoing shipments, inventory movement, and merchandise handling.
• Lead initiatives that improve productivity, quality, safety, and operational efficiency.
• Monitor key operational metrics and implement corrective actions to drive performance improvements.
• Manage department budgets and resources to achieve business objectives while controlling costs.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, quality standards, and safety requirements.
• Lead, develop, and coach distribution center employees across multiple shifts.
• Drive employee engagement, accountability, and performance through effective communication and leadership.
