Job summary

Steelcase Hazleton distribution center is seeking an experienced Distribution Center Operations Manager to lead receiving, storage, and distribution, driving lean processes and safe, on-time deliveries.

You will partner with manufacturing and field distribution to optimize costs, build a high-performing safety and quality culture, and coach teams across multiple shifts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
• 5+ years of relevant experience in a distribution center.
• 2+ years of supervisory or management experience in a distribution warehouse environment.
• Experience managing distribution center operations, including receiving, shipping, and material handling functions.
• Demonstrated ability to lead teams and achieve operational objectives.
• Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced, changing environment while demonstrating adaptability and sound judgment.

Description

This role will support both 1st shift and 2nd shift. Start time is TBD but an example could be 8 or 9am.

We are looking for an experienced Distribution Center Operations Manager to lead the receiving, distribution, and material handling operations within our distribution center. In this role, you will coordinate the movement of products and parts while ensuring efficient, safe, and timely delivery performance. You will drive operational excellence through lean processes, collaborate closely with manufacturing and distribution partners, and lead teams in meeting customer requirements while optimizing transportation and distribution costs. The target starting base salary for this position is $90,000 - $95,000. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Minimum Qualifications

• Spanish Language proficiency is strongly preferred.
• Experience supervising 40+ employees within a distribution environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with employees, customers, vendors, and business partners.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to think strategically and globally.
• Demonstrated financial acumen, including budgeting and cost management experience.
• Proven project leadership skills and the ability to successfully manage operational improvement initiatives.
• Knowledge of SAP and distribution management systems.
• Understanding of engineering methods, quality systems, inventory management processes, and safety requirements.
• Strong delegation, follow-through, and execution skills.
