Job description

Join to apply for the DC Human Resources Specialist role at O'Reilly Auto Parts.

Provide human resources support to DC management, DC Human Resources Business Partner (DCHRBP), and DC team members. Collaborate with the DCHRBP on recruitment initiatives, screening applicants, and completing new hire paperwork. Assist with new team member orientation and benefit education classes. Provide team member relations support and collaborate with DC leadership on other duties as needed.

Essential Job Functions
  1. Track and maintain emergency contact information, team member listings, turnover reports, etc.
  2. Copy and distribute phone lists for supervisors, corporate information listings, employee evacuation lists, status changes, and various other documents.
  3. Ensure proper phone coverage at all times for the human resources office, and provide telephone coverage for the DCHRBP and DC manager as needed.
  4. Order, distribute, and process billing information for uniform shirts for DC team members and supervisors.
  5. Generate and prepare monthly evaluation reports for all DC team members on their scheduled date, and distribute to supervisors to ensure evaluations are completed timely.
  6. Schedule interviews, prescreen applicants, track drug screens, assist in recruiting efforts, and utilize outside vendors for reference checks.
  7. Process new hire paperwork, assist with data entry, create team member badges, and prepare orientation materials.
  8. Support team members with questions related to benefits, uniforms, or other HR and team member relations issues.
  9. Coordinate team member activities and goodwill projects, including the Why We Work Safe program.
  10. Attend Town Hall and Safety Committee meetings, support with writing and distributing minutes, and prepare submissions for the company newsletter.
  11. Support investigation protocols, including collection of statements and incident background information.
  12. Assist with the annual wage survey process.
  13. Help with workers’ compensation paperwork and follow-up.
  14. Participate in DC audits, including documentation of powered industrial equipment and employment/safety posters.
  15. Perform other duties as assigned.
Skills/Education/Experience

Required:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 1+ year of office or HR experience
  • Proficient in email, Microsoft Office, data entry, and typing
  • Excellent detailed work, written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to multitask and work well in a team
  • Customer service skills

Desired:

  • 2-3 years of HR or office experience
  • Understanding of HR laws and procedures
  • Multilingual abilities (Spanish preferred)
