Job summary

Chick-fil-A Supply is seeking an HR Leader to guide the day-to-day HR operations at the new Cartersville, GA distribution center. This role reports to the Regional HR Leader and partners with CFA Inc. to drive the HR strategy across the DC and its workforce.

You will lead recruitment, performance management, engagement initiatives, and training while ensuring compliance with federal and state requirements. The position emphasizes workforce development and awards programs, with a focus on safety

Qualifications

  • 3 years of HR experience in a distribution or manufacturing environment.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of general HR policies, procedures and practices.
  • Ability to build relationships with and influence others across multiple operations.
  • Ability to navigate a confrontational situation, ensuring all parties are treated with honor, dignity, and respect.
  • Excellent business communication and presentation skills.
  • Experience with investigations including, but not limited to, accidents and harassment allegations.
  • Experience recruiting and developing a strong, diverse team.
  • Ability to lead through change management.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Proficient communicating in English (reading, writing, and speaking) to safely follow verbal instructions, complete documentation and paperwork, and accurately read and interpret company communications.

  • Implement and oversee performance review and incentive programs within the DC.
  • Achieve target KPIs related to attrition, employee engagement and safety.
  • Drive and oversee team member employee engagement strategy across all departments of the DC.
  • Support organizational growth and future distribution center operations by participating in interview events, training/onboarding and providing temporary talent support.
  • Complete other activities as deemed valuable by the organization.

Job description

Overview

The Human Resources (HR) Leader will report to the Regional Human Resource Leader and oversee the day-to-day operations of the human resources team at the new Chick-fil-A Supply Distribution Center (DC) in Cartersville, GA. This individual will help lead a workforce to distribute millions of cases of inventory annually to Chick-fil-A Operators throughout the region. The HR Leader will ensure that the workforce can meet the demands of the DC, working closely with HR leaders at Chick-fil-A, Inc. and other Chick-fil-A Supply distribution centers to drive the HR strategy at the DC. The HR Leader will manage reward and benefit systems to help meet broader organizational goals. This person will help drive continued innovation at an operation like no other in the food service industry, by focusing specifically on the engagement and development of the workforce. Additionally, this role will be trained and train other talent professionals at various distribution centers in the network. Most importantly, the HR Leader will lead in a way that supports Chick-fil-A’s vision and strategy while embodying the corporate purpose.

  • Complete other activities as deemed valuable by the organization

Relationship Management:

  • Work closely with CFA Supply Senior Leadership Team, CFA Inc. Supply Chain, Operators, and various business partners to ensure optimal alignment and collaboration
  • Provide employee relations support to all distribution center staff
  • Maintain a positive, service-focused mindset
  • Demonstrate the ability to value both relationships and results and to put others above themselves
  • Recruit, train, and develop a strong team
Required Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities)
  • 3 years of HR experience in a distribution or manufacturing environment
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Demonstrated knowledge of general HR policies, procedures and practices

  • Ability to occasionally work evenings, weekends and holidays
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Proficient communicating in English (reading, writing, and speaking) to safely follow verbal instructions, complete documentation and paperwork, and accurately read and interpret company communications.
Preferred Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities)
  • Bachelor’s Degree in business administration, organizational development, human resources, or another relevant field
  • Spanish speaking strongly preferred (regional based qualification)
  • 10+ years of HR experience in a distribution environment
  • Active PHR/SPHR SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP or similar certification
  • Excellent knowledge of employment law and other governmental requirements related to human resources
  • Working knowledge of logistics, warehousing and IT systems
  • Working knowledge of supply chain innovations
  • Working knowledge of safe work practices (OSHA, etc.) for all functions performed in a distribution facility
  • Demonstrated business acumen and ownership of HR KPIs; using data to drive continuous improvement
  • Demonstrated ability leading in distribution center
  • Food service distribution experience
