Job summary

HunaTek is seeking a Sr. Risk Management Program Officer to fill a vacancy within the Department of State.

The Risk Management/Program Officer serves as the technical expert and lead advisor on risk management, intelligence, counterterrorism vetting, and national security issues for WHA/AC-managed foreign assistance programs. When not engaged in risk mitigation duties, the contractor will provide program officer support to WHA/AC throughout the full grants management lifecycle, including

Qualifications

• Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) clearance.
• At least 5 years of relevant experience in risk management, compliance, foreign assistance, monitoring or grants management.
• Knowledge of foreign assistance risk policy and compliance with sanctions and related risk.
• Strong written and oral communication, with ability to produce clear, defensible written products.
• Ability to provide clear guidance on complex policy and legal matters.
• Strong project management and organizational skills.
• Familiarity with vetting processes and due diligence in screening.

Responsibilities

• Advise on risk management, intelligence, and national security issues affecting WHA/AC programs.
• Oversee and manage TRA and bureau risk mitigation policies and records management.
• Draft risk-based assessments with program officers and GORs.
• Prepare vetting case recommendations and present to leadership for final approval.
• Provide vetting training to applicants, awardees, and WHA/AC staff on PII handling.
• Review and coordinate risk mitigation policies and procedures during annual reviews.
• Maintain organized records and documentation for audit readiness.
