Job summary

Integrated Services of Kalamazoo (ISK) is seeking an Adult Mental Health/Substance Use Therapist (DBT) to provide confidential counseling in a busy outpatient setting with a flexible schedule. The role includes leading DBT groups and performing evaluations, with emphasis on evidence-based approaches and thorough documentation.

Licensed Master’s level professionals with LMSW/LLMSW or LPC/LLP/LLP credentials and 1–3 years of experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Master's level licensed professional with a minimum of one year of experience; three years strongly preferred.
• Licensure: LMSW/LLMSW, LPC/LLP, or LLP.
• Knowledge of DSM-V criteria, co-occurring and substance use disorders; familiarity with psychotropic medications.
• DBT certification or willingness to obtain certification.

Responsibilities

• Lead DBT skills groups and perform face-to-face clinical evaluations and assessments.
• Complete all clinical documentation within 24 hours.
• Provide telephonic on-call skills coaching and participate in a consultation group.
• Maintain a flexible schedule and contribute to a fast-paced outpatient setting.

Job description

Do you have a passion for providing confidentialmental health, addiction and co-occurringcounseling services in a fast-paced outpatient setting with a flexible schedule and Friday afternoons off? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to work as anAdultMental Health/Substance Use Therapist(Dialectical Behavior Therapy DBT) and make a difference in our community.

What You Will Be Doing

In addition to providing counseling, as aMental Health/Substance Use Therapistyou will be responsible for leading DBT skills groups as well as performing face-to-face clinical evaluations and assessments to make sure people receive quality services that are appropriate to their level of need. You will complete all clinical documentation within 24 hours and will have considerable knowledge of brief solution focused therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, personality development, diagnosis, different treatment theories and techniques, such as insight-oriented therapy,interpersonal therapy, reality therapy, and value clarification. You will participate in providing telephonic on call skills coaching and you'll be actively involved in a consultation group. You'll have aflexible schedule.

What We Require

You will be aMaster's level licensed professionalwith a minimum ofone year of experience, three years strongly preferred. You will have extensive knowledge of the DSM V diagnostic criteria, co-occurring disorders, substance use disorders, evidence-based and promising practice interventions, and familiarity with psychotropic medications, experience with involuntary hospitalization procedures and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. You will be licensed as aLMSW/LLMSW,LPC/LLPC, or LLP. You will have previous training and certification as a DBT therapist or the desire/ability to obtain same.

Physical Requirements / Working Conditions:

Physical Efforts – Job demands include prolonged sitting and standing as appropriate. May occasionally require light lifting up to 25 pounds, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or bending as appropriate. Requires coordination of hands and/or eye/hand/foot.

Working Conditions – Office environment with noise from computers, copy machine, and telephones. Use of computer monitor for periods in excess of 30 minutes at a time. Possible eyestrain from extended periods of viewing computer. May be exposed to bloodborne pathogens, infectious diseases, and parasites. Travel throughout the Kalamazoo area is required.
