Job summary

Network180 seeks to employ an Outpatient Therapist - DBT Focus in Grand Rapids, MI, to provide trauma- and recovery-focused outpatient therapy to adults in our outpatient clinics. This full-time position runs Monday–Friday, 8:00 am–5:00 pm, with no weekends or on-call requirements.

The role requires a Master’s degree in a relevant field, Michigan licensure or eligibility, and DBT experience. Competitive benefits and professional development opportunities are offered.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or Counseling Psychology.
  • Licensure in Michigan as a limited licensed master social worker, marriage and family therapist, or eligible for license within one month of hire.
  • At least one year of experience providing DBT therapy to adults.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
  • Knowledge of psychological assessment, diagnosis, ethics, and professional standards.
  • Computer skills including word processing, spreadsheets, email, database management, and data entry.
  • Clear and concise communication in stressful situations.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work in a multicultural environment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide ongoing, developmentally appropriate, trauma- and recovery-focused outpatient therapy.
  • Deliver evidence-based outpatient therapy to clients in Network180’s Outpatient Clinic(s).

We are seeking an Outpatient Therapist - DBT Focus to provide ongoing and developmentally appropriate, evidence based, trauma- and recovery-focused outpatient therapy to clients of Network180’s Outpatient Clinic(s).

This position is 40 hours a week, Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. There are no weekends, on call, or holiday requirements for this position. The employee in this position will work in office at 790 Fuller Ave NE Grand Rapids, Michigan 49503.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Master’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or Counseling Psychology.
  • Licensure in the State of Michigan as a limited licensed master social worker, marriage and family therapist, OR be eligible for a limited license as stated above and obtain that licensure within one (1) month of hire.
  • At least one year of experience providing individual and/or group DBT therapy to adults.
  • Possession of a valid driver’s license and access to reliable transportation for job related use.
  • Thorough working knowledge of the practices and principles of psychological, emotional, and sociological assessment and diagnosis.
  • Thorough working knowledge of professional ethics and standards of practice.
  • Computer skills including word processing, spreadsheets, email, database management, and data entry skills.
  • Demonstrated experience communicating clearly and concisely in stressful situations.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment and skills and capabilities of bridging language/cultural barriers to Network180 services within diverse communities.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Fully licensed MSW, Professional Counselor, Psychologist, or Marriage and Family Therapist.
  • Training in and experience with providing Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy.
  • CAADC certification through the Michigan Certificate Board for Addiction Professionals or able to obtain a development plan for the credential.
  • Knowledge of trauma-informed theories, principles, and practices (includes multi-faceted understanding of concepts such as community trauma, intergenerational and historical trauma, parallel processes, and universal precautions).
  • For DBT therapists, experience providing DBT to fidelity as a member of a DBT treatment team.
  • Lived experiences with mental illness/developmental disabilities/substance use disorders valued.
