Job summary

Life Adjustment Team in Marina del Rey seeks an experienced, compassionate Licensed Therapist with DBT expertise to facilitate DBT-based groups for adults in our PHP/IOP programs.

The ideal candidate will develop engaging DBT groups, teach mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotion regulation, and interpersonal effectiveness, and incorporate interactive exercises for real-life application. Collaboration with the clinical team and thorough documentation are required.

Qualifications

• Current California BBS licensure as LMFT, LCSW, or LPCC.
• Training and demonstrated experience utilizing Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT).
• Experience facilitating therapeutic groups.
• Strong understanding of mental health conditions and evidence-based therapies.

Responsibilities

• Develop and facilitate structured DBT-based therapeutic groups for adults in PHP/IOP.
• Teach and reinforce the four core DBT skill areas: mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotion regulation, and interpersonal effectiveness.
• Include interactive exercises, real-life scenarios, group discussions, and practical skill-building activities.
• Help clients identify unhelpful behaviors, improve emotional awareness, and develop healthier coping strategies.
• Create a welcoming, supportive, and inclusive group environment that encourages participation.
• Adapt content and facilitation to meet varying client needs and functioning levels.
• Collaborate with LAT's clinical team to align groups with treatment goals and program objectives.
• Complete required clinical documentation accurately and timely.
