Job summary

MethodHub is seeking an IBM Db2 Database and Platform Expert to evaluate, optimize, and guide the evolution of the Db2 environment behind a transportation management platform. This individual will lead a live production database move from Windows to Linux with no disruption, and collaborate directly with IBM to resolve open issues.

Responsibilities include tuning Db2 for high-volume workloads, assessing architecture, and building automation for health checks and backups.

Qualifications

• Proven experience migrating a live Db2 database from Windows to Linux in production.
• Hands-on Db2 LUW administration in large, transaction-heavy environments.
• Deep Windows Server admin and performance-tuning for database workloads.
• Proficiency with automation using PowerShell for diagnostics.
• Strong Linux administration skills for Db2 environments.
• Experience with IBM support/escalation processes.

Responsibilities

• Lead migration of production Db2 from Windows to Linux including plan, cutover, rollback, and validation.
• Diagnose and resolve production issues such as performance degradation and replication problems.
• Assess Db2 architecture, memory, logging, and capacity to identify bottlenecks.
• Tune Db2 for high-volume transactional workloads supporting core business functions.
• Collaborate with IBM support and engineering to drive issue resolution.
• Review SQL, optimize workflows, and recommend product changes when needed.
• Benchmark performance and ensure backup, monitoring, HA/DR are maintained or improved.
• Configure and tune Linux environments for Db2 and review Windows Server setup.
• Build automation for health checks, configuration validation, and backup verification.
• Produce findings, risk assessments, and migration runbooks for teams.
