Job summary

RUSS HADICK & ASSOCIATES INC is seeking an experienced IBM Db2 Database and Platform Expert to assess, optimize, and evolve the Db2 implementation supporting TruckMate. The ideal candidate will identify performance and operational risks and implement improvements while ensuring business continuity during migration.

The role requires strong Windows and Linux DB2 administration, SQL performance tuning, and experience coordinating with IBM for issue resolution.

Qualifications

Extensive hands-on Db2 LUW admin and tuning in production environments.
Experience diagnosing CPU, memory, disk I/O, and network issues for DB workloads.
Proven migration of live Db2 databases from Windows to Linux.
Strong Linux administration skills for Db2 environments.
Ability to create migration runbooks, cutover plans, rollback plans, and post-migration support.
Excellent written and verbal communication for technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

Assess Db2 architecture, workload, and configuration to identify bottlenecks.
Tune SQL, indexes, and schema to improve performance for high-volume workloads.
Review and optimize customer SQL and workflows.
Lead or assist migration of Db2 databases from Windows to Linux with minimal downtime.
Coordinate with IBM for issue resolution and leverage IBM support and engineering.
