About the Role

We are seeking an experienced IBM DB2 Database Migration Specialist to support a mission-critical enterprise migration from Sailfish proprietary database appliances to IBM DB2 Cloud Rack.

This role will be central to ensuring a secure, well-controlled, and seamless transition across multiple enterprise data center environments. The ideal candidate will bring strong hands-on database migration experience, a disciplined testing mindset, and the ability to work effectively across application, infrastructure, IBM, security, and operations teams.

This is a high-impact role supporting a major enterprise platform replacement initiative. The Database Migration Specialist will help ensure business continuity, data integrity, system performance, security readiness, and operational stability as the organization transitions from legacy Sailfish infrastructure to IBM DB2 Cloud Rack.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and execute DB2 Sailfish to IBM DB2 Cloud Rack migration activities across enterprise environments.
• Validate database configurations, infrastructure readiness, network connectivity, access controls, and security requirements.
• Perform data migration, reconciliation, and integrity validation to ensure completeness and accuracy.
• Conduct functional, performance, stress, scalability, failover, and resiliency testing.
• Partner with application, infrastructure, IBM, security, and operations teams to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve migration-related issues.
• Develop and maintain migration runbooks, cutover plans, validation reports, test evidence, and sign-off documentation.
• Support production cutover, issue triage, post-migration stabilization, and knowledge transfer.
• Ensure all migration activities comply with enterprise security, risk, governance, and operational standards.

Required Qualifications

• 7+ Years of strong hands-on experience with IBM DB2 LUW and/or Oracle database platforms.
• Strong understanding of database configuration, performance tuning, backup and recovery, high availability, failover, and resiliency concepts.
• Experience with data validation, reconciliation, migration testing, and production cutover support.
• Ability to collaborate across application, infrastructure, vendor, security, and operations teams.
• Strong documentation skills, including runbooks, test plans, validation reports, issue logs, and sign-off materials.
• Experience working in enterprise environments with formal change management, governance, and compliance controls.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with IBM DB2 Cloud Rack, database appliances, or cloud-based database infrastructure.
• Experience supporting mission-critical systems in regulated or highly controlled environments.
• Familiarity with access management, audit readiness, security validation, and compliance requirements.
• Experience managing migrations across multiple data centers or complex infrastructure environments.

The base salary range for this role is $140,000 - $200,000
