BWD is recruiting a Defined Benefit Team Manager for an established retirement services business.
This opportunity suits an experienced pensions professional who enjoys developing people and wants meaningful responsibility for team performance and client delivery.
You’ll lead actuaries and retirement plan specialists working across defined benefit, cash balance and combined DB/DC arrangements. Your technical judgement will matter, alongside your ability to give people direction, build their confidence and create the conditions for consistently good work.
You’ll take ownership of the team’s priorities, development and performance. That means coaching colleagues, providing constructive feedback and balancing workloads so that clients receive accurate, timely advice and administration.
You’ll be a trusted point of escalation for challenging cases, helping colleagues resolve complex technical and service issues. Working with other business leaders, you’ll also identify better ways to deliver work, share knowledge and strengthen the client experience.
The portfolio brings variety, from ongoing plan administration and compliance to benefit distributions, plan terminations and specialist projects.
You could be an actuary who has moved into people leadership, or a DB administration manager with substantial technical experience. Relevant professional credentials are valued, but this appointment is equally focused on how effectively you lead others.
A base salary of $120,000–$150,000, alongside health and insurance benefits, paid time off and a 401(k) with employer contributions.
The position is fully remote within the United States, with some flexibility around starting hours and occasional travel for leadership and team meetings. Applicants must be authorised to work for any US employer.
