Job summary

Jacobs Solutions Inc. is seeking an experienced CEI Inspector to join our FDOT highway team in Florida. You will mentor early professionals and assist resident engineers with inspection work per project specs, supporting growth and delivering quality on-site.

The role requires prior roadway/bridge project exposure, a valid driver’s license, and a technical school or related engineering/construction management degree (not mandatory). Expect site travel and everyday field duties as described.

Qualifications

• Previous experience working on roadway or bridge projects.
• Valid State’s driver’s license and the ability to pass a motor vehicle background check.
• A technical school graduate or have a degree related to Engineering or Construction Management but not mandatory.

Responsibilities

• Determine the acceptability of the day-to-day work by the contractor.
• Review and recommend accepting or rejecting daily reports submitted by the contractor.
• Performs inspection of the contractor’s quality control procedures.
• Performs material testing and verifies that procedures are in conformance with the approved Quality Control Plan and established procedures.
• Reviews material testing procedures and results for conformance to the contract and measures quantities of materials placed.
• May be required to perform sampling and/or in-place testing of soil, aggregate base, concrete, and asphalt concrete pavement.
