Job summary

Jacobs is seeking an experience CEI Inspector for the Daytona Beach, FL area to support our FDOT highway team. You will work with technical experts to advance inspection efficiency and mentor junior staff.

Responsibilities include assessing contractor work, reviewing daily reports, inspecting QC procedures, and performing material testing in line with QC plans. The role requires a high school diploma, roadway/bridge experience, and a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

• High School diploma.
• Experience working on roadway or bridge projects.
• Valid State’s driver’s license and ability to pass a motor vehicle background check.

Responsibilities

• Determine the acceptability of the day‑to‑day work by the contractor.
• Review and recommend accepting or rejecting daily reports submitted by the contractor.
• Performs inspection of the contractor’s quality control procedures.
• Performs material testing and verifies that procedures are in conformance with the approved Quality Control Plan and established procedures.
• Reviews material testing procedures and results for conformance to the contract and measures quantities of materials placed.
• May be required to perform sampling and/or in‑place testing of soil, aggregate base, concrete, and asphalt concrete pavement.
