Job summary

Potbelly Sandwich Shop is hiring a Daytime Team Member in San Antonio, TX. The role offers a starting wage between $12.75 and $13.25 per hour plus digital tips and a friendly, fast-paced work environment.

You will help open the shop, prepare food, and serve customers while delivering an excellent experience in a clean, inviting setting. We value teamwork, reliability, and strong communication.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 16 years old.
• Friendly, customer-first mindset in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Comfortable working in a bustling kitchen (knife skills a plus).
• Able to manage allergens: peanuts, egg, dairy, gluten, soy, seafood and shellfish.
• Team player.
• Stand/walk a minimum of 3 hours; lift up to 50 lbs.
• Illinois applicants must become food safety certified within 30 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Work multiple stations (load, dress, shakes, cash, prep, front) as directed by a Shift Leader or Manager.
• Comply with health and safety standards for food, cleanliness and safety.
• Restock food line, chips and cooler.
• Prepare quality finished products (sandwiches, salads, soups, cookies, ice cream) efficiently.
• If 18 or older, use of the automatic slicer to prep food items.
• Clean tables, counters, floors, bathrooms, kitchen and utensils; take out trash.
• Operate cash register: handle, balance and follow all cash handling procedures.
• Effectively handle customer complaints/issues.
• Takes delivery/catering/pickup orders over the phone.
• Other duties as assigned.
