Job summary

UPMC Shadyside seeks two full-time daytime Solid Tumor Oncology Hospitalists to provide inpatient care for adults with solid tumor malignancies.

Candidates must be board-certified or board-eligible in Internal Medicine, hold an MD or DO degree, and be eligible for a Pennsylvania medical license.

The physicians will evaluate admitted patients, coordinate with outpatient oncology teams, and ensure smooth handoffs to the overnight team on a 12-hour daytime schedule.

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree from an accredited program.
• Completed Internal Medicine residency.
• Board certification or board eligibility in Internal Medicine.
• Eligible for a Pennsylvania medical license.
• Hospital medicine or cancer care experience preferred.
• Strong clinical judgment and communication; multidisciplinary care.

Responsibilities

• Admit and evaluate hospitalized adults with solid tumor malignancies.
• Coordinate care with outpatient oncology teams and provide handoffs.
• Collaborate with oncologists, APPs, nursing, pharmacy, care management, and ancillary teams.
• Maintain accurate documentation in the electronic health record.
• Escalate clinical or operational concerns to leadership.
