Job summary

Sundae Ice Cream in Basalt, CO is hiring a fun, full-time Shift Leader to manage a small retail team through a busy summer. You’ll help open the store, serve customers, prep items, and maintain stock while delivering cheerful, high-quality service.

We offer total compensation of $20.00-$25.00 per hour (base + tips), paid sick time, free shift treats, employee discount, and mentorship for growth. Must be 16+, have 1+ year CS experience, and be available throughout the summer season.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of customer service experience preferred.
• Some foodservice experience preferred.
• Must be 16 or older.
• Must have work availability throughout summer season (approximately 9/30/2026).

Responsibilities

• Open the store on time and lead a team through the shift.
• Prepare food items confidently while monitoring stock levels.
• Communicate and serve customers with joy and knowledge of product details.
• Handle cash responsibly and perform closing cash out procedures accurately.
• Model Sundae’s customer service standards and lead by example.
• Participate in staff meetings and team cleaning tasks.

Shift Leader Responsibilities:

• Maintain responsible cash handling and perform closing cash out procedures accurately

• Participate in and contribute to all staff meetings and team cleaning tasks
• Lead a team to success during a shift by setting the example for positive customer interactions, portion control, and cleanliness standards

Physical Requirements:

• Move, traverse or remain in a stationary position for up to 8 hours
• Constantly use manual (e.g., scooping ice cream) and automatic food service equipment and touchscreens
• Regularly move up to 25 pounds for a distance of 50 feet or more
• Occasionally ascend/descend ladder to clean or lift items stored above
• Occasionally position self to clean, maintain equipment, and retrieve items below counter height
