Job summary

Harvard Protection Services seeks Security Officers to provide professional, customer-focused security and life-safety services at our New York locations. Officers maintain a visible presence, greet staff and visitors, monitor activity, and respond to incidents in accordance with client policies and procedures.

A high school diploma or GED is required; a security officer license is preferred or must be obtainable. Reliable communication and transportation are essential.

Qualifications

• State or municipality mandated licenses for security officers.
• Minimum High School Diploma, GED or the equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a professional demeanor, aiding customers, employees, visitors, and guests.
• Maintain a visible presence in the facility/building assigned.
• Monitor the environment and detect suspicious/unsafe activity.
• Greet customers, visitors, staff, tenants, guests professionally.
• Answer phones in a professional manner.
• Permit authorized persons to enter property and monitor entrances/exits.
• Enforce facility policies within scope of position.
• Perform patrols of designated areas on foot or in vehicle.
• Observe departing personnel to prevent theft and ensure proper removal of property.
