Job summary

Schaumburg Community Consolidated School District 54 Operations and Maintenance is seeking a Day Custodian in Schaumburg, Illinois. Immediate start with responsibilities including keeping facilities safe, sanitary, and well-maintained, and supporting school activities through setup/teardown and material handling.

The role requires custodial experience, the ability to work with minimal supervision, and strong knowledge of housekeeping equipment and safe practices.

Qualifications

Experience in custodial services.
Ability to coordinate work schedules.
Must be able to work with little or no supervision.
Must be able to mentor, coach and train.
Extensive knowledge of small machines, including their care, maintenance and repair.

Responsibilities

Arm/Disarm the building alarm.
Lock/Unlock doors and secure the building.
Set up and teardown for school activities.
Inspect for vandalism and report to Custodial Leads.
Verify heating/AC operation and report malfunctions.
Perform fire drills as directed.
Dispose of garbage and replace liners.
Vacuum and mop areas as needed.
Disinfect all washrooms.
Submit work orders and report maintenance needs.
Receive materials and assist in milk distribution.
Remove exterior refuse and manage custodial closets.
