Job summary

Upper Arlington City Schools seeks a Substitute Nutritional Services worker to assist in daily cafeteria operations, including serving meals, handling cash, and maintaining safe, clean lunchrooms. This role requires a high school diploma or GED, 1–2 years related experience, and Serve Safe certification or the ability to obtain it.

You will work with students, staff, and the public, upholding nutrition program policies and confidentiality. Typical hours are weekdays between 8:45 a.m.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1–2 years related experience preferred.
• Serve Safe food handlers certification or ability to obtain.
• Alternatives to qualifications may be approved by supervisor/board.

Responsibilities

• Ensure safety of students.
• Receive payment for cafeteria lunches and milk.
• Record number of lunches served.
• Prepare POS system before lunch,”review
• Balance daily receipts and records.
• Restock milk and condiments as needed.
• Interact professionally with staff, students, and the public.
• Assist cook when time allows.
• Attend required online in-services.
