Job summary

Upper Arlington City Schools is seeking a Food Service Worker at Hastings Middle School to support the preparation and serving of nutritious meals for students, while maintaining a clean, welcoming cafeteria environment.

The role includes cashiering, operating the point-of-sale system, basic math, and ensuring safety and health standards. Candidates need a high school diploma or GED and 1–2 years related experience; Serve Safe certification or progress toward it is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• 1–2 years of related experience.
• Serve Safe food handlers certification or ability to obtain.
• Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Supervisor and/or Board of Education may find appropriate

Responsibilities

• Ensure the safety of students.
• Foster a welcoming and respectful cafeteria environment.
• Assist in preparation of menu items and fruit/vegetable bar.
• Handle cash transactions and operate the POS.
• Maintain cleanliness of cafeteria and kitchen.
• Attend meetings and online trainings as required.
• Restock a la carte items and condiments.
• Follow district policies and sanitation protocols.
