Job summary

The Nutrition Group is seeking a substitute food service worker for a local school kitchen. This on-site role involves cooking, portioning, serving meals, and maintaining cleanliness in a fast-paced environment. You will ensure compliance with USDA guidelines and assist with inventory and cost controls.

Strong reading and math skills, reliable transportation, and a willingness to learn are essential. Prior food service experience is preferred and computer literacy is a plus.

• Good interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Cook and prepare food for service.
• Portion and serve food to students and staff.
• Maintain sanitation in line with USDA and state guidelines.
• Support HACCP and health department compliance.
• Monitor costs and inventory controls.
• Operate cash register and handle money.
• Perform dishwashing and cleaning duties.
