Job summary

Hai Hospitality, based in Austin, Texas, is a multi-concept restaurant group including Uchi, Uchiko, Uchiba and Loro. We are seeking a Pastry Cook to join our kitchen team and help create amazing desserts for dinner service.

This morning-to-afternoon shift (roughly 7am–3pm) offers $16–$20 per hour, with benefits such as medical/dental/vision insurance, EAP, 401k matching, and dining discounts. Previous pastry production experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Must effectively communicate with guests and coworkers.
• Detect and identify safety issues, and comply with safety guidelines and standards.
• Lift and carry trays, dishes, equipment, and goods up to 50 lbs and restock as needed.
• Work in a fast-paced, high-pressure kitchen environment.
• Operate ovens, grills, knives, and other kitchen equipment safely.

Responsibilities

• Assist pastry production for dinner service, including baking and chocolate work.
• Maintain a neat, organized workspace and proper storage of supplies.
• Move quickly to respond to guest needs in a busy kitchen setting.
