Job summary
Senior LIFE in Bethlehem, PA is seeking a Nutritional Services Technician to join our home and community based Medicare/Medicaid program. This full-time, daytime position supports the Registered Dietician, plans and serves therapeutic diets, and ensures compliance with federal and state regulations.
An Associate degree in nutrition/food service and a valid driver's license are required. We offer competitive pay and a comprehensive benefits package with PTO, holidays, 401k match, and travel time
Qualifications
- Associate degree in food service, nutrition, or dietetics.
- Must have a valid Driver's License.
- Must have one year's experience working specifically with an elderly or aging population.
- Previous food service experience in a health care facility preferred.
- Knowledge of clinical dietetics is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Registered Dietician in providing nutrition care and education to LIFE Center participants.
- Follow current federal and state regulations and established company policies and procedures.
- Assist in planning regular and therapeutic diets based on participant needs and evaluate food service operation.
- Ensure therapeutic diets are prepared and served as ordered by the physician.
- Follow up with participants upon enrollment and periodically thereafter to determine likes, dislikes, allergies, etc.
- Visit participants in dining room during meal times to maintain communication.
- Participate in participant assessment and care plans for nutritional needs; educate participants and families.
- Involve participant/family/caregiver in care plan development and attend family council meetings.
