Job summary

College Park Family Care is seeking a Medical Assistant to join a patient‑centered team. You will prepare patients for examinations, take histories and vital signs, and support clinical procedures in a fast‑paced primary care setting.

You will handle room preparation, injections, phlebotomy, and minor procedures while assisting physicians. A one‑year clinical background and MA certification requirements apply, with clear certification pathways outlined.

Qualifications

• One year of Medical Assisting or other direct clinical patient care experience in a healthcare setting.
• High School Diploma or GED Required
• Certification/license: three ways to qualify: Medical Assistant Certification (RMA, CCMA, CMA, NCMA, NRCMA or ABR-OE) or recent MA program graduate must certify within 60 days, or one year MA experience with certification within one year of hire.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for examination by taking histories and vital signs.
• Set up exam and treatment rooms with required instruments and supplies, including sterilization.
• Provide injections and assist with lab testing and phlebotomy.
• Assist physicians in minor surgeries and physicals.
• Answer practice calls and screen for referrals.
