Green Sage Café in Asheville, NC is seeking a dedicated Line Cook to join our busy kitchen. You will prepare healthy meals using organic, local ingredients and follow recipes with teamwork and a focus on quality.

Shifts run from 7am to 4pm with no late nights, and there are opportunities for advancement within the company. The role emphasizes consistency, customer satisfaction, and adherence to health standards.

Qualifications

• Experience in a fast-paced restaurant environment.
• Weekend availability required.
• Able to stand for up to 8 hours.
• Professional demeanor.
• Strong verbal communication and organization.
• Able to lift 40 pounds regularly.
• ServSafe certification required.
• At least 2 years of restaurant experience.

Responsibilities

• Knowledge of menu items, recipes, and preparations per Green Sage standards.
• Training, knowledge, and safe use of kitchen equipment to perform all duties.
• Prepare all prep items per recipes and proper procedures.
• Prepare menu items quickly and accurately according to tickets and customer requests.
• Ensure that customer table orders are complete and correct before leaving the kitchen.
• Maintain control, organization, and communication during execution of orders at all times.
• Maintain freshness and sanitation standards at all times per health codes and policies.
• Receive and store deliveries using proper rotation and dating procedures.
• Set up, break down, and clean the kitchen according to checklists and guidelines.
• Assist with expediting, food running, or other duties as requested by the General Manager.
