Goodwin Living in Alexandria, VA is seeking a full-time Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to provide end-of-life and hospice care in community settings under RN supervision. The LPN will assist in planning care, deliver skilled nursing, and support the interdisciplinary care plan.

The role requires VA LPN licensure, 2 years of nursing experience (prefer hospice/home health), independence, patient teaching, and strong communication. Valid driver’s license and MS Office skills are expected.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited practical nursing program.
• Current Commonwealth of Virginia LPN license.
• Two years nursing experience in acute/long-term care or hospice preferred.
• Ability to work independently with strong communication and teaching skills.
• Computer proficiency and MS Office knowledge required.
• Valid driver’s license and daily access to a vehicle.
• Commitment to hospice philosophy; certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care per policies and nursing standards.
• Consult with RN Case Manager on care plan changes.
• Recognize symptoms and inform RNCM of significant changes.
• Administer medications as ordered, with competency for IV continuity per protocol.
• Reinforce interventions and educate patients, families, and volunteers.
• Participate in interdisciplinary group meetings.
