Job summary

Potbelly Corporate is seeking a Daytime Team Member in Des Plaines, IL for first shift (8am-4pm). Earn between $17.25 and $17.75 per hour plus digital tips in a fast-paced, friendly environment where great service and quality meals matter.

As a primary point of contact, you’ll open the shop, prep food, serve customers and help keep a clean, inviting space. You’ll join a team with opportunities for career growth, competitive pay, and benefits such as health insurance and 401(k).

Qualifications

• Must be at least 16 years old.
• Friendly, customer-first mindset in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Able to stand for 3+ hours and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Illinois food safety certification within 30 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Work multiple stations (load, dress, shakes, cash, prep, front) as directed by a Shift Leader or Manager.
• Comply with health and safety standards for food, cleanliness and safety.
• Restock food line, chips and cooler.
• Prepare quality finished products (sandwiches, salads, soups, cookies, ice cream, etc.).
• If 18 or older, use of the automatic slicer to prep food items.
• Clean tables, counters, floors, bathrooms, kitchen and utensils; take out trash.
• Operate cash register: handle, balance and follow all cash handling procedures.
• Effectively handle customer complaints/issues.
• Takes delivery/catering/pickup orders over the phone.
• Other duties as assigned
