Job summary

MUSC Community Physicians (MCP) is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant to support outpatient clinics. The CMA will interview patients, measure vital signs, and input data into the medical record. The role requires basic computer skills, room preparation, and effective communication.

Qualification includes a high school diploma or equivalent, completion of an accredited medical assisting program, and certification through AMT/AAMA/NAHP/NCCT or MedCA, plus current BLS. Equal opportunity employer.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; completion of an accredited medical assisting program.
• One year of patient care experience preferred.
• Certification through AMT, AAMA, NAHP, NCCT or MedCA is required.
• Current American Heart Association (AHA) BLS certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Interviews patients and records information to the medical record.
• Measuring vital signs (pulse, temperature, BP, weight, height).
• Prepares treatment rooms for examinations.
• Maintains basic computer skills and annual competencies.
• Communicates effectively, verbally and in writing.
