Job summary

Scheels in West Des Moines, IA is seeking a friendly cashier to greet customers, ring up purchases accurately, and provide a welcoming, world-class shopping experience. You will promote the Scheels Visa, assist with digital receipts sign-ups, balance the cash drawer, and keep the checkout area neat.

A high school diploma or GED is preferred, with 1–3 months of cashiering experience recommended; schedule is 20 hours weekly, with some evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Greet all customers with a smile when entering and exiting the store.
• Enhance the customer experience by engaging in conversation while providing personalized service and meeting the digital receipt program goals.
• Accurately scan items and ensure proper rung through and payment before the customer leaves.
• Promote the Scheels Visa card and explain its benefits clearly.
• Ask customers to sign up for digital receipts.
• Balance the cash drawer and operate the computerized register.
• Keep the checkout area stocked and clean.
