Job summary

Scheels All Sports, Inc. in Cedar Falls, IA is seeking a temporary seasonal cashier starting mid-late October for a 60-day assignment. Greet customers, scan items, process transactions, and promote the Scheels Visa and digital receipts.

Work with a team, follow cash handling procedures, maintain clean checkout area, and participate in company ESOP benefits; scheduling weekday daytime hours; high school diploma preferred and 1-3 months cashiering experience preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• 1-3 months of cashiering experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet all customers with a smile when entering and exiting the store
• Enhance the customer experience by engaging in conversation while providing personalized service and consistently meeting the goals of the digital receipt program
• Accurately scan every item customers are purchasing, ensuring all merchandise is properly rung through and paid for before the customer leaves the store
• Treat merchandise with care, and bag purchases carefully and efficiently
• Promote the Scheels Visa card and clearly explain all benefits
• Ask every customer to sign up for digital receipts
• End each transaction by saying “thank you” to every customer
• Perform basic math, calculate discounts, make change, and accurately balance the cash drawer
• Operate the computerized register system and follow all cash handling policies
• Maintain an awareness of in-store events and promotions
• Keep the checkout area stocked and clean
