Job summary

The Williston Northampton School in Easthampton, MA is seeking a full-time Custodian/Housekeeper to maintain clean, safe, and welcoming campus facilities. Schedule is Monday–Friday, 5:30 AM to 2:00 PM, with occasional extra hours for special events.

Responsibilities include sweeping, mopping, trash removal from dorms, academic buildings, and offices; report repairs or heating/light issues; follow safety procedures; and pass CORI/SORI and fingerprint checks; valid driver’s license and post-offer

Qualifications

One to three years of institutional experience, preferably in an educational setting.
Ability to work intuitively and independently as well as part of a team.
Strong organizational skills for multi-tasking and prioritizing responsibilities.
Ability to understand written and oral instruction.
Must pass CORI/SORI and fingerprint background checks.
Must possess a valid driver’s license and pass a post offer employment physical.
Working knowledge of cleaning chemicals and equipment.

Responsibilities

Perform standard custodial/housekeeping tasks: sweeps, mops, scrubs and vacuums hallways, stairs and offices.
Empty trash and garbage containers in dormitories, academic buildings, children's center and offices.
Notify management of repairs, lighting, or heating issues.
Submit recommendations for painting, repairs, furnishings and supplies.
