Job summary

River-View in Elgin, IL is expanding its team and hiring a Day shift full-time Activity Aide (Sunday-Thursday, 8:30am–4:30pm). You will create interactive programs to engage residents and support daily activities in a warm, caring environment.

Responsibilities include planning events, playing games and crafts with residents, and assisting with assessments and discharge planning, while maintaining HIPAA confidentiality and compassionate service.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Two (2) years of experience in Long-Term Care and Dementia is preferred.
• Must have basic computer skills.
• Positive, energetic and engaging demeanor is expected.
• High level of confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA standards.
• Must have compassion, tolerance and understanding for older adults.

Responsibilities

• Provide interactive and enjoyable activities for residents.
• Assist in planning, developing, organizing programs and events.
• Play games and make crafts with mobile residents.
• Visit bed residents on a one-to-one basis.
• Participate in resident assessment and discharge planning.
• May assist with resident mail delivery.
