Job summary

Reflections Retirement Community in Effingham, IL is seeking a full-time Activities Coordinator to lead our activity team, design and facilitate recreational programs, and promote resident participation. You will work to create meaningful experiences that support residents' wellbeing and community involvement.

You will manage monthly calendars, oversee budgets, run transportation, coordinate the Resident Council, and help ensure activities reflect residents’ needs and dignity.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or GED equivalent.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license.
• Minimum age of 21 with a good driving record.
• Prior activities/life enrichment experience in a healthcare setting.
• Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
• Must possess leadership skills and the readiness to mentor, motivate, and inspire.
• Demonstrates exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Leads the Activity team, guiding staff through resident activities and events.
• Designs and facilitates recreational and social programs to promote participation.
• Develops and implements a monthly activities calendar tailored to residents’ needs.
• Oversees budget and equipment inventory for the activities program.
• Manages the Community transportation program, including operating the company van.
• Coordinates the Resident Council to enhance resident engagement.
• Assesses program impact and adjusts activities to meet evolving resident needs.
• Coordinates the Community newsletter to reflect our mission and core values.
