Qualifications

  • At least eighteen years of age and hold a high school diploma or its equivalent.
  • Obtain the Washington State ECE Certificate or equivalent by 2026, or within 5 years of hire, whichever is later.
  • Food handler's permit, or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire.
  • Valid First Aid/CPR card or ability to obtain within 60 days of hire.

Responsibilities

  • Provide daycare for children 12-60 months, ensuring safety and welfare.
  • Prepare meals, maintain hygiene, monitor health, behavior, and emotional needs; provide age-appropriate instruction.
  • Work with parents to support learning and socializing; sterilize toys and play areas to keep environment safe and clean.

Wage: $25.83 - $30.00 per hour (2026-27 PSE Salary Schedule)

Position Summary

Provides daycare, ensuring the safety and welfare of children 12-60 months of age. The daycare worker will assist parents by preparing meals for children, maintaining their hygiene, monitoring them for health, behavioral, and emotional concerns, providing them with age appropriate instruction, and working with parents to ensure that children are learning and socializing in a positive way. They may also assist with sterilizing toys and play areas and other duties to ensure that the children are in a safe, engaging, and clean environment.

Qualifications Required
  • At least eighteen years of age and hold a high school diploma or its equivalent,
  • Obtain the Washington State ECE Certificate or equivalent by 2026, or within 5 years of hire, whichever is later.
  • Food handler's permit, or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire.
  • Valid First Aid/CPR card or ability to obtain within 60 days of hire.
Benefit Eligibility
  • Insurance: This position may be eligible for medical, dental, vision, long-term disability, basic life insurance, and accidental death and dismemberment insurance if the assignment is anticipated to work at least 630 hours per year.*
  • Retirement Plans: This position is eligible for a 403(b) TSA Retirement Savings Plan.
  • Paid Holidays: This position is eligible for up to 12 paid holidays per year. The number of holidays depends on employee's start and end dates.
  • Paid Time Off: Employees working less than 12 months per year earn 7 days' worth of vacation pay per year and accrue 1 day of sick leave per month. Up to 3 days of personal leave may be granted each school year. Vacation and sick leave are based on scheduled hours and position start date.
  • Snoqualmie Valley School District benefits are administered by the Washington State Healthcare Authority (HCA) under the School Employees Benefits Board (SEBB). Eligibility for benefits is determined by the number of hours employees are anticipated to work during the school year (September 1 through August 31). Any employee who is scheduled to work 630 hours or more for SVSD in a school year, including substitute work, is eligible for benefits. Eligibility will be re-established at the start of each school year.
