Job summary

Snoqualmie Valley School District seeks a paraeducator to support instructional programs for students in general and special education settings across classrooms and community sites.

Under supervision, you will assist with delivering instruction, supervision during recess and meals, and transitions such as bus arrivals. A high school diploma or equivalent is required, with additional WA-approved credentials encouraged.

Qualifications

• At least eighteen years of age and a high school diploma or equivalent.
• One of: passing score on approved paraeducator assessment; or associate degree or higher; or 72 quarter credits / 48 semester credits at 100 level+; or apprenticeship registered with WA Apprenticeship Council.

Responsibilities

• Assist in delivering educational programs to individuals or small groups in various settings under supervision.
• Participate in daily schedules including outdoor recess, bus arrival/dismissal, and lunchroom supervision.

Weekly working hours: 31

Wage: $25.83 - $30.00 per hour (2026-27 PSE Salary Schedule)

Position Summary:

Under the direction of a certificated staff member, assists in the delivery of educational programs to individual or small groups of students in a variety of settings. These settings include, but are not limited to, special and general education classrooms; community sites, and vocational sites on and off school campuses. Daily schedule generally includes some shifts of outdoor recess, bus arrival/dismissal, and/or lunchroom supervision. For complete details, please see the attached job description.

WA State Paraeducator Requirements

• At least eighteen years of age and hold a high school diploma or its equivalent,

In addition, a paraeducator must also meet one of the following:

• Have received a passing score on one of the assessments approved by the Paraeducator Board (www.pesb.wa.gov); OR
• Hold an associate degree or higher from an accredited college or university.; OR
• Have earned 72 quarter credits or 48 semester credits at the 100 level or higher at an accredited college or university; OR
• Have completed an apprenticeship as a paraeducator, in a program registered with the Washington State Apprenticeship and Training Council.

Upon Hire, Successful Candidate Must Provide

• A copy of a High School diploma or HS transcripts, or acceptable equivalent document.
• Official post secondary transcript(s).

• Paid Holidays: This position is eligible for up to 13 paid holidays per year. The number of holidays depends on employee's start and end dates.
• Paid Time Off: Employees working 12 months per year earn 12 days of paid vacation per school year. Employees working 237 - 260 days per school year earn 12 days of sick leave. Up to 3 days of personal leave may be granted each school year. Vacation, sick leave, and personal leave are based on scheduled hours and position start date.

Eligibility for benefits is determined by the number of hours employees are anticipated to work during the school year (September 1 through August 31). Any employee who is scheduled to work 630 hours or more in a year is eligible for benefits.
