Little Moonlight Daycare in New York is seeking a Daycare Assistant to support the development, safety, and well-being of young children in a nurturing, hands-on environment. This paid, full-time, on-site role offers meaningful experience in early childhood education.

You will supervise children during daily activities, assist lead teachers with instructional activities, and help with age-appropriate care routines.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children in daycare centers or preschool settings.
• Knowledge of child development instruction and early childhood education principles.
• Ability to manage classroom behavior through positive reinforcement and effective behavior management strategies.
• Familiarity with first aid, CPR, pediatric first aid procedures, and emergency response protocols.
• Strong communication skills for parent interaction and team collaboration.
• Experience working with individuals with disabilities or special education needs is a plus.
• Classroom experience involving toddler care, infant care, or childcare supervision is highly valued.

Responsibilities

• Supervise children during daily activities, playtime, meals, and rest periods to ensure their safety and engagement.
• Assist lead teachers with classroom management and instructional activities focused on child development and learning milestones.
• Support infants, toddlers, and preschoolers with age-appropriate care routines, including diapering, feeding, and hygiene practices.
• Implement classroom activities that promote social skills, creativity, and early learning concepts.
• Communicate effectively with parents about their child's progress, behavior, and needs to foster strong relationships.
• Follow all safety protocols including first aid procedures, pediatric first aid guidelines, and mandated reporting laws for child welfare concerns.
• Maintain a clean, organized classroom environment that encourages exploration while adhering to health and safety standards.
