Job summary

A Child Daycation in New York, NY is seeking a Day Care Assistant/Helper to support daily operations in our childcare center. You will assist with supervision, care of children, and classroom routines under the guidance of licensed staff.

We offer a full-time schedule from 8:00 to 5:00, an hourly wage of $15–$18, and opportunities for performance raises/bonuses. Immediate start is available, with a welcoming, nurturing environment for kids and staff alike.

Responsibilities

• Help children during meals, snacks, toileting, handwashing, and other daily routines.
• Set up and clean up classroom activities and learning materials.
• Sanitize toys, tables, cots, and classroom equipment throughout the day.
• Maintain clean, organized classrooms, bathrooms, and common areas.
• Assist with nap time, playground supervision, and classroom transitions.
• Help prepare and distribute snacks and meals.
• Encourage positive behavior by modeling kindness, patience, and respect.
• Ensure the health, safety, and wellbeing of children at all times.
• Follow all center policies, health and safety procedures, and licensing regulations.
• Assist in different classrooms as needed.
• Communicate respectfully with children, families, and coworkers.
• Attend required staff meetings and training sessions.
• Perform other duties assigned by the Director.

Job description

The Day Care Assistant/Helper supports the daily operations of the childcare center by assisting with the supervision and care of children, maintaining a clean and safe environment, and helping teachers and staff with daily routines. This position does not serve as the lead teacher but plays an essential role in ensuring the smooth operation of the program.
