Job summary

USMD Hospital At Arlington LP is seeking a Registered Nurse to join the care delivery team. The RN will set standards for care quality and assume responsibility for nursing care of a patient group and their families, collaborating with physicians and other health care providers to achieve outcomes across the continuum of care.

The role requires a nursing degree, current Texas or Compact RN licensure, and BLS/ACLS certification with PALS for PACU/ER.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
• Current RN Licensure, Texas or Compact.
• BLS and ACLS certification required; PALS for PACU/ER required.
• ENPC and TNCC preferred for ER.
• 2–4 years of nursing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Delivers quality nursing care while minimizing the risk of infection, contamination, harm, or injury.
• Demonstrates competency per validation form.
• Verifies patient identity using two identifiers before procedures.
• Provides updates and patient education to patient and family.
• Follows exposure control plans for pathogens.
• Identifies and communicates safety hazards to staff.
• Respects cultural differences in care.
• Participates in performance improvement within Hospital and department.
• Delivers nursing care to assigned patients including education, planning, pain management, and discharge planning.
• Anticipates deterioration and acts to protect patient safety.
• Provides compassionate emotional, psychological, and spiritual support to patients, families, and friends.
• Maintains proper body mechanics and wears ID on duty.
