Job summary

AirLife in Glendale, AZ is seeking a Yard Driver for 1st shift Monday through Friday, 6:00 am – 2:30 pm at our Litchfield Park facility. The role involves moving trailers and containers within the yard, spotting at loading docks, and performing basic inspections to keep operations running smoothly.

Candidates with prior yard truck experience and a good driving record are preferred. GED or high school diploma required.

Qualifications

• Previous experience operating yard trucks or similar equipment preferred.
• Good driving record with no history of accidents or violations.
• Ability to maneuver vehicles safely in tight spaces and congested areas.
• Strong communication skills and ability to follow instructions.
• Basic knowledge of vehicle maintenance and inspection procedures.
• Physical ability to perform the duties of the job, including sitting for extended periods, bending, lifting, and operating controls.
• GED or High School Diploma.

Responsibilities

• Vehicle Movement: Safely operate yard trucks to move trailers and containers within the yard.
• Spotting: Position trailers at loading docks or designated storage areas as required.
• Inspection: Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections and report maintenance issues.
• Safety: Follow safety procedures and use PPE; adhere to traffic rules in the yard.
• Communication: Maintain clear communication with yard supervisors and drivers.
• Documentation: Record trailer movements, inspections, and incidents accurately.
• Equipment Maintenance: Assist with basic yard equipment maintenance and report needs.
• Yard Organization: Help optimize yard layout for space and efficiency.
