Job summary

Steffes-Corporatio in Dickinson, ND is seeking a welder/fabricator to join our manufacturing team. The role requires reading drawings and welding per procedures, with potential basic robot operation and TPM tasks as needed.

You will work with diverse tools and materials, follow standard work, and maintain quality and safety standards. Overtime may be required and collaboration with colleagues is essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Combination of welding certification and/or experience preferred.
• Basic computer knowledge (Windows, email, internet).
• Basic math skills required.
• Reading skills (basic instructional/technical information).

Responsibilities

• Operate various types of welding tools and hand tools (die grinders, angle grinders, etc.).
• Read drawings, blueprints, and heat numbers, if applicable.
• Follow standard work, training guides, weld procedures, and acceptance criteria to meet customer requirements.
• May be responsible for basic robot operation, including loading/unloading parts, starting/stopping robot, daily device TPM, and notifying lead or supervisor if welds are not within tolerance.
• Basic problem solving and decision making.
• Follow build boards and Kanban system requirements.
• Report inconsistencies and/or defects in material, product, or equipment.
• Adjust fab parts to allow proper alignment.
• External Robot Operation/Programming Certification may be obtained based on criteria.
• Maintain a positive work atmosphere by collaborating with customers, suppliers, co-workers, and management.
• Help company meet its strategic, quality and safety objectives.
• Position may require overtime; other duties may be assigned.
