Steffes is seeking a night shift welder to operate welding tools and read drawings. You will follow weld procedures and work instructions, perform TPM and assist with basic robot tasks as needed.

Responsibilities include maintaining quality, reporting issues, and cooperating with teams to meet production goals. Overtime may be required to support production demands.

Formación

• High School diploma or GED.
• Combination of welding certification(s) and/or experience.
• Basic computer knowledge (Windows, email, internet).
• Communication skills required.
• Basic math skills needed.
• Reading skills for basic and technical information.

Responsabilidades

• Able to operate welding tools and hand tools (die grinders, angle grinders, etc.).
• Able to read drawings, blueprints, and heat numbers where applicable.
• Follow standard work, training guides, weld procedures and acceptance criteria.
• May operate basic robot tasks including loading/unloading parts and TPM.
• Perform basic problem solving and decision making.
• Follow build boards and Kanban system requirements.
• Report inconsistencies or defects in material, product, or equipment.
• Adjust fab parts for proper alignment as needed.
• Possibly obtain External Robot Operation/Programming Certification.
• Maintain positive, collaborative workplace with customers, suppliers, co-workers, and management.
• Support Steffes strategic, quality and safety objectives.
• Position may require overtime hours and additional duties.

Night Shift Position

Shift Time: 4:30 PM to 4 AM

Monday - Friday(Fridays as needed for mandatory overtime depending on production needs)

Key Responsibilities

1. Able to operate various types of welding tools and various hand tools. (Including die grinders, angle grinders, etc.)
2. Able to read drawings, blueprints, and heat numbers, if applicable.
3. Follow and understand standard work, training guides, weld procedures, and acceptance criteria to meet customer requirements.
4. May be responsible for basic robot operation, where applicable. This could include loading and unloading parts, starting and stopping robot, daily device TPM, daily operator TPMs, and to notify lead or supervisor if any welds are not within tolerance.
5. Basic problem solving and decision making.
6. Follow and understand build boards and Kanban system requirements.
7. Report inconsistencies and/or defects in material, product, or equipment.
8. Able to make adjustments to various fab parts to allow proper alignment.
9. External Robot Operation/Programming Certification may be obtained based on specific criteria.
10. Maintain a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating collaboratively with customers, suppliers, co-workers, and management.
11. Helps company meet its Strategic, Quality and Safety objectives.
12. Position may require additional responsibility and ability to work overtime hours.
13. Other duties may be assigned.

Functional & Cognitive Requirements of Position

• This position requires walking, sitting or standing to a significant degree.
• Must have the ability to lift 70 pounds from floor to waist, carry 50 pounds, and push and/or pull up to 100 pounds.
• Must have the ability to climb ladders and/or stairs.
• Stooping, crouching, kneeling and bending.
• Handling, feeling, and gripping would be required for some activities.
• Visual acuity is required to inspect work completed.
• This role may be subject to internal and external environmental conditions.
• Learn new tasks, remember processes, maintain focus, complete tasks independently, make timely decisions in the context of a workflow, ability to communicate with visitors, ability to complete tasks in situations that have a speed or productivity quota.
