Job summary

Senneca Holdings in Frederick, Maryland is seeking an experienced Welder/Fitter for the DAY shift (Mon-Fri, 8:00 am–4:30 pm). You will fit, align, and weld structural tube and plate assemblies per engineered drawings and weld procedures, reading blueprints with precision on structural fabrication projects.

The role requires reading blueprints, performing MIG or Flux Core welding, and following strict safety practices.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent.
Welding certification program or 1–2 years of hands-on welding experience.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, weld symbols, and fabrication drawings.
Familiarity with fabrication tools such as saws, grinders, torches, and layout tables.
AWS D1.1 or equivalent certification is a plus.
Strong focus on safety, quality, and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

Fit and weld structural tube assemblies and components per fabrication drawings and WPS requirements.
Perform layout, cutting, grinding, and fitting operations to prepare materials.
Verify dimensions and alignment using measuring tools, squares, and levels.
Perform MIG (GMAW) and/or Flux Core (FCAW) welding carbon steel materials.
Maintain high-quality standards in weld appearance, size, and penetration.
Work independently or as part of a fabrication team to meet production schedules.
Inspect welds for conformance and report nonconformities to supervision.
Follow all safety procedures, including PPE use, material handling, and safe equipment operation.
Must always wear appropriate protective gear, including welding helmets, gloves, safety glasses, and steel-toe boots.
Operate welding machines, grinders, saws, and other fabrication tools in accordance with manufacturer guidelines and shop protocols.
