Job summary

Chase Doors in Frederick, MD is seeking a Welder/Fitter to join our fabrication team. You will fit and weld structural tube and plate assemblies per engineered drawings and WPS, while maintaining quality and safety standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Welding certification or 1–2 years of hands-on welding experience.
• Basic MIG (GMAW) and/or Flux Core (FCAW) welding proficiency.
• Ability to read blueprints and weld symbols.
• Knowledge of weld joints and fit-up techniques.
• Strong safety and quality focus.

Responsibilities

• Fit and weld structural tube assemblies and components per drawings and WPS.
• Perform layout, cutting, grinding, and fitting operations.
• Verify dimensions using measuring tools, squares, and levels.
• Weld carbon steel materials using MIG (GMAW) and/or Flux Core (FCAW).
• Maintain high-quality standards in weld appearance, size, and penetration.
• Work independently or as part of a fabrication team to meet production schedules.
• Inspect welds for conformance and report nonconformities to supervision.
• Follow safety procedures and use PPE.
• Operate welding machines, grinders, saws, and other fabrication tools.
• Lift, move, and position materials with proper techniques.
