Indiana University Health is hiring for a Patient Care Assistant on a full-time day shift. This role blends direct patient care with routine unit clerical tasks, under supervision from a Clinical Nurse.

You may schedule tests, help maintain patient records, and ensure a clean environment for patient safety. Required is a high school diploma or GED, CPR/BLS readiness, and completion of the IU Health PCA education program or equivalent.

Qualifications

• Requires High School Diploma or GED and CPR/BLS readiness.
• Successful completion of IU Health PCA education program or equivalent.
• Basic knowledge of medical terminology and infection control.
• Ability to assist physicians and care teams with patient information and scheduling.

Responsibilities

• Provide a combination of direct patient care and unit clerical duties.
• Administer care under the direction of a Clinical Nurse and support care teams.
• Maintain clean, orderly patient environment and assist with records and sign-in/out.
• Assist with scheduling tests/procedures and equipment supply delivery.
• May provide continuous observation including suicide prevention.
