Job summary

Indiana University Health System in Bloomington, IN, is seeking a Patient Care Technician (PCA) to support bedside care and deliver a compassionate patient experience. You will assist with meals, mobility, baths, linens, and vigilantly monitor patients.

Under the supervision of the bedside RN, you will obtain vital signs, report changes, and help maintain safety with gait belts and alarms. The role offers a meaningful chance to care for IU Health patients in a fast-paced hospital setting.

Qualifications

• BLS certification required or completed through IU Health PCA program.
• Knowledge of patient care procedures appropriate to age groups.
• Proficiency in communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage high workload and interruptions.
• Knowledge of infection control principles.

Responsibilities

• Obtain vital signs and report abnormalities to the RN.
• Assist patients with meals, walking, baths and linen changes.
• Maintain patient safety with gait belts and alarms.
• Provide compassionate bedside care in a fast-paced setting.
• Support RN and ensure patient comfort and dignity.
