Job summary

Ascension is seeking a surgical support professional at St. Joseph Hospital in Milwaukee, WI, within the Surgery department. The role involves day-shift duties in a 1.0 schedule, supporting safe and efficient surgical procedures and instrument handling.

Responsibilities include preparing sterile and non-sterile instruments, assisting with patient preparation and positioning, and maintaining accurate counts and organized instruments. BLS certification is required within 30 days of hire.

Qualifications

• BLS Provider within 1 Month of hire date required (American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted).
• Education: High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job-specific experience.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate safe and efficient surgical procedures
• Prepare sterile/non-sterile instruments and supplies
• Assist with patient preparation, positioning, and draping
• Maintain instrument organization and accurate counts
