Job summary

Volunteers of America Northern California & Northern Nevada, Inc. is hiring for day shift support staff at Our Place, Family Home shelter. The role supports women and families experiencing homelessness, with duties spanning meal coordination, housing logistics, and safety checks.

Qualifications

• CPR and First Aid certification required within 90 days of employment.
• Ability to communicate effectively with residents and staff.
• Understanding of homelessness challenges and safety protocols.

Responsibilities

• Explain program rules and assist residents with daily routines.
• Coordinate meals, bed assignments, showers, and laundry.
• Provide awake shift coverage and maintain a supportive presence.
• Document reports and maintain safety and sanitation checks.
• Support boutique operations and participate in training.
