Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Care Program.
• Texas license to practice Respiratory Care.
• Registered by the National Board for Respiratory Care (RRT).
• 6 months of respiratory care experience.
• BLS and ACLS certifications are required; NRP and PALS must be obtained within 1 year of hire.

Responsibilities

• Perform respiratory therapeutics including oxygen administration, aerosol therapy, humidity therapy and airway maintenance.
• Conduct cardiopulmonary diagnostic procedures such as ABG, pulse oximetry, PFTs and ECGs.
• Prepare treatment evaluations with bedside assessments and review medical records.
• Interpret chest X-ray, ABG and PFT results to guide care.
• Maintain and troubleshoot cardiopulmonary equipment and related devices.
• Contribute to infection control, safety and quality assurance programs.
